What’s the big deal about CT scans?

CBCT technology gives us incredible diagnostic capabilities to take a really thorough look at the tissues and structures of the upper and lower jaws.

A CBCT X-ray machine allows us to:

• Evaluate slices or sections of the jaw,

• Magnify areas of interest, and

• Rotate structures digitally for a much better and much more detailed look at teeth and bone structure.

Increased diagnostic capabilities means better patient safety to help avoid vital structures and to potentially discover areas or issues that need attention not previousy seen with other X-rays.

Here at Alamo Heights Implant Center, we routinely take these scans on patients who need dental implant surgery, sinus augmentation, and bone grafting. We do that so that we can make the best possible treatment plans that is specific to each patient’s needs.
